Must Have Thunderbird Extensions
Here’s the Extensions that I have installed in Thunderbird right now, a quick description, and why I like them.
- Habu Adds a button to your toolbar to easily report spam in the current folder to SpamCop, FTC, FDA, SEC, or Knujon.com.
This extension is awesome for spamcop users that have quick reporting turned on. If you have your Thunderbird spam filters tuned to your email habits, 99% of the time the spam that is reported is spam. - Remove Duplicate Messages (Alternate) Searches the current folder and compares all the messages to each other and gives you the option to remove duplicate messages. It will compare by from, recipients, message id, sent time, subject, body, etc.
I used to use the first Remove Duplicate Messages, but when the extension would not be compatible with a newer version of Thunderbird (I think between 1.5 and 2) I found this extension which runs ALOT faster and is alot more accurate. - syncSW ScheduleWorld is a free SyncML server that will sync your contacts and calendars with a multitude of devices and programs.
This site is a God-send to geeks (like me) that have multiple installs of Thunderbird on many different computers and their contact list on their smartphone and want them all to be in sync. ScheduleWorld has a Thunderbird extension, Outlook plugin, Windows Mobile support (via Funambol), Blackberry, and syncs to Google Calendar, etc, etc ,etc. Gmail contacts are being reworked because of the recent update to Gmail. Still a great website! - Duplicate Contact Manager Checks your contacts list for duplicates and asks you what you would like to do with not exact duplicates (merge, keep both, etc).
I personally have stopped using this extension since I found ScheduleWorld but it is useful to clean out address books.
