Google now indexes your voice!

Google Built Phone Service to Train Speech-to-Text Software

If you’ve called the 800-GOOG-411 at all chances are your voice is being used to train Google’s speech to text recognition (also read as Skynet). I kinda wish Google would have owned up to this one at lot sooner. On the other hand - a perfect way to get millions of samples of human speech, with different accents, pronunciations, inflections, etc. Whoever thought this one up at Google is getting a pat on the back.

Vista User ‘Upgrades’ to Xp

Review: Windows XP

I personally have seen no incentive to install Vista on any piece of computer equipment I own and will continue to run my ‘outdated OS’ until it is pried out of my cold dead fingers. If anything the next OS upgrade will be to Gentoo, or some other flavor of Linux, or heaven forbid I might actually purchase a Mac (gasp).
